Do we have to calculate OEE ourselves?
No. BUSROOT calculates it continuously from the productive status, downtime, production counts and bad units it already records. OEE is Availability × Performance × Quality.
Do I need new hardware for OEE?
No extra hardware beyond what Production Tracking and Downtime already use. OEE has no signal of its own: it's built from the data the other capabilities collect.
What do we need to set up?
Connect your stations, give every SKU an accurate cycle time, record bad units, and plan production with schedules. Performance is only as accurate as the cycle times you give it.
Why doesn't time outside the schedule count against OEE?
OEE only counts planned production time. Out-of-shift time, unscheduled time and planned maintenance aren't part of it. OEE Analysis still shows the time with no schedule and planned non-production as separate losses, so they don't disappear.
Can performance go over 100%?
No. Performance is capped at 100%. If a station runs faster than its target, its target cycle time may need updating.
How is the cost of lost production worked out?
Give each SKU a value and each station an idle cost per minute. BUSROOT then adds up the cost of downtime, speed loss, quality loss and planned non-production. Lost production cost is turned on for your account when you're ready to use it.
Why is our quality always 100%?
Because no bad units are being recorded. Operators can record rejects and their reasons in the Operator Interface, or a device can send them.
