Is each asset working?

Find the capacity you already have.

Most factories have more capacity than they think. It's hidden in idle time nobody sees: a machine waiting for material, a slow start after a break, a cell that sits quiet on nights.

BUSROOT checks every minute whether each station is productive, and shows you when it wasn't. So before you buy another machine, you'll know how hard the ones you have are working.

Why it matters
You can't add capacity you can't see.
Find hidden capacity
See the idle time inside every shift, station by station, before you spend money on new equipment.
Facts, not feelings
Swap "it always seems busy" for a measured figure of how much of the available time each asset was productive.
Fair to planned time
Planned maintenance and breaks come out of the available time, so they don't count against a station.
What it does

See when each asset works.

And when it sits idle.

FAQs

Everything you need to know to get started.
How does BUSROOT know a machine is working?
Each station needs one signal. It can be a productive signal from the machine, such as a run output or a movement sensor, the electrical load going above a threshold you set, or a line speed above a threshold. BUSROOT checks every minute whether the station was productive.
Do I need new hardware?
Usually just a small connector per machine. We supply micro PLCs and sensors that read an existing run contact or a sensor, and energy meters if you'd rather go by power draw. If your machines can already send data over MQTT, you can connect them directly.
Does it work with old machines?
Yes. The connectors work with any machine, old or new, whether or not it has its own PLC. Where there's no suitable output, a sensor can be fitted instead.
How is utilisation calculated?
Utilisation is productive time as a share of available time. Available time is the time inside a shift, minus any scheduled non-production time such as maintenance or breaks.
Will planned maintenance make our numbers look bad?
No. Add it as a non-production schedule and BUSROOT takes that time out of the available time. Time outside your shift pattern isn't counted either.
What about machines that only signal once per cycle?
You set a hold on time for the station. Each signal keeps it productive for that long, so a machine that signals once per cycle, or a manual process like welding, still gets a fair picture.
What do operators have to do?
Nothing. Utilisation comes straight from the machine or the energy meter, so there's no data entry.
